In-wall speakers share many of the qualities and characteristics of a traditional cabinet speaker but install discreetly within the surface of a wall.
In-wall speakers include the woofers and tweeters you’re familiar with from conventional cabinet speakers. However, the drivers are often modified or designed from the ground up to perform within the confines of a wall. Built-in wall speakers can also feature a shallow cabinet (a closed-box design) or no cabinet at all (open box), depending on the type of wall into which they’re being installed.
DALI PHANTOM in-wall speakers
Our range of in-wall speakers come in two general formats. The smaller, square-shaped PHANTOM H-series, like the H-80, delivers exceptional sound to any room in your home. And if you prefer to the rectangular proportions of a traditional cabinet speaker, the H-60 R and H-80 R are for you.
The no-compromise PHANTOM M and S-series offer the performance of a multi-driver cabinet speaker in a discreet, low-profile format that installs into almost any wall. From the PHANTOM M-250 to the range-topping S-280, there’s a DALI in-wall speaker to fit your needs.
How to install speakers in a wall
Installing in-wall speakers depends on the type of wall, though the premise is the same: make a hole in your wall, connect speaker cable to provide the audio signal from an amplifier, and install the speaker in the wall cavity.
Choosing the best in-wall speakers
When choosing in-wall speakers, you should first consider your budget and what kind of installation suits your needs. If you’re a music lover, you may opt for a straightforward two-channel setup. You could also consider adding a subwoofer to help out with the low frequencies. We also offer the PHANTOM IW SUB S-100, a powerful in-wall subwoofer for the ultimate discreet subwoofer solution.
Adding height channels to a surround setup
If you’re a true movie fan, you can create an amazing 3.1, 5.1 or 7.1-channel surround sound installation using only in-wall speakers... and if you supplement it with two in-ceiling speakers, such as the DALI PHANTOM E series or K series you can add height channels for an even more immersive experience.
A discreet alternative to traditional Hi-Fi
In-wall speakers provide all the benefits of conventional cabinet speakers with very few downsides. Once installed, you have a high-quality Hi-Fi speaker setup that blends seamlessly into any room.
