DALI CD VOL 1
The 'DALI CD VOL 1' is a compilation of various tracks personally and carefully selected with the purpose of giving music lovers the chance to enjoy the full potential of their DALI loudspeakers. The 'DALI CD VOL 1' is, in other words, a collection of great recordings from great musicians.
Since 1983 DALI has designed, developed and produced hi-fi loudspeakers with one goal only. To fulfill our vision of how a loudspeaker should sound, look and feel.
At DALI we are driven by raw enthusiasm and optimism on a never-ending journey to satisfy our audiophile ideas of what a good loudspeaker is.
The same with this CD - we have personally selected these tracks in various musical styles to enable you to enjoy the full potential of your DALI speakers. Great recordings from great musicians on speakers made in admiration of music.
When we write "In Admiration Of Music" it is much more than a nice sounding motto. It is the very foundation on which we develop and produce loudspeakers.
We love music.
We love sound.
We strive for the ultimate in sound reproduction in every DALI product and on this CD.
Enjoy!
DALI CD VOL 1
JOHN CAMPBELL
John Campbell's dark, raw and expressive voice underlines the lyrics of the old Tom Waits song 'Down In The Hole' so effortlessly. I our opinion it is a great recording from a great musician.
THE YURI HONING TRIO
'Walking On The Moon' combines two worlds that do not often meet - the poop/rock/reggae world of an immortal Police/Sting song and the world of Jazz.
HUGH MASEKELA
'Stimela (The Coal Train)' is a dynamic track of excellent quality and as a live recording it is one of our favorites. It is as if you are actually standing there in front of the band on that sunny afternoon at the Blues Alley.
HANS THEESSINK
'Mississippi' is unmistakably one of the superior tracks on 'Blue Grooves from Vienna', which is an exciting and enjoyable experience.
JOCELYN B. SMITH
'When I Need You' is a live recording, which is a real musical experience. Jocelyn B. Smith is known for the emotional impact of her unbelievable intonation, which has been known to give tough men goosebumps and bring tears to the eyes of strong women.
DAMIEN RICE
'Cannonball' is taken from Damien Rice's album '0', which immediately was lauded by the critics as mesmerizing, absorbing, adventurous and emotional.
JAN AKKERMAN
In 1996 Jan Akkerman put his more than 30 year career into perspective. He recorded 'Focus in Time', part retrospective, part overview of his musical luggage from where 'Am I Loosing You' was taken.
PETER SCHNEIDER & THE STIMULATORS
'St. James Infirmary' is a great live recording with a nice ambiance. It is quite obvious that there are skilled musicians at work here.
TERRY EVANS
Terry Evans' voice and guitar-play on 'Get Your Lies Straight' pays tribute to the blues legends as a whole - and boy does this band swing and rock and roll like the party has just begun.
PATRICIA BARBER
The album 'Companion' was Patricia Barbers fifth recording but her first live recording. Part of this album is 'Let It Rain', which is an intimate live recording.
MARILYN MAZUR & AUDUN KLEIVE
'Drum Impro' is an improvisation between Marilyn Mazur and fellow drummer Audan Kleive, which is not available on any other release.
DICK HYMAN
'Bach Up To Me' is superbly recorded with brilliant fidelity and presence. The album "Dick Hyman plays Fats Waller" from which this track is taken i a highly personal homage to Fats Waller.
