Tim Christensen
At the age of only 14, Tim Christensen (born 1974) formed rock trio Dizzy Miss Lizzy, destined to become one of the most successful Danish bands of all time. The group had significant impact, not only
in Denmark, Germany and Benelux, but as far away as Japan.
Tim has always cited the Beatles as his main inspiration. The name of his first band refers to a Larry Williams song covered by the Beatles and Tim later recorded one of his solo albums at legendary Abbey Road Studios. Luckily, his admiration for the Beatles and other artists never obscures his own distinctive musical identity.
“Far Beyond Driven” is recorded and mixed by Frank Birch Pontoppidan at STC Studios, Copenhagen and mastered by George Marino at Sterling Sound, NYC. The bluesy intro proves that Tim can be very gentle, soft and lyrical, but then the bass drum kicks in, warning that another side of Tim’s musical personality is on its way.
When the heavily distorted electric guitar sets in and Tim at the same time pushes his voice to its limits, things get, well, “Far Beyond Driven.” The sound becomes slightly annoying compared to established hi-fi ideals, but mere seconds later, a more polite Tim is back where he started on this tour de force through his broad range of musical expressions.
