“On a Long Lonely Night”
First of all: Please turn the volume up a bit now, because this is the original version of this track with headroom left for peaks and the full dynamics of the title track from Sko/Torp’s 1990 debut album.

The most immediately obvious and at the same time most paradoxical fact about this hugely successful Danish duo is that they don’t sound Danish or Scandinavian at all. “On A Long Lonely Night” actually sounds like a genuine American West Coast production. But there is more to it than that.

Although the sound production by Swedish Mats Ronander is in many respects close to the American West Coast ideal, it also surpasses it in many ways. During the intense selection process we at DALI went through before ending up with the final track list for “The DALI CD Vol. 3”, this 1990 recording was challenged by many alternatives, but the jury kept this track on the list as the best representative of the genre from start to finish.
