3” WOOFER/FULL RANGE
This woofer is a very special design, capable of reproducing a wide range of frequencies, from surprising lows to unusual highs. The steel basket and other mechanical elements are designed to allow very large cone excursions. A special Soft Clipping design gently brakes the cone when maximum excursion is reached, thus reducing any audible results of the cone being at its limits.
The cone itself is made of rigid, low-mass paper, permitting the reproduction of very high frequencies and the use of the term ”full range”.
1” SOFT DOME
The very limited space inside ELEGANCE and the demand for magnetic shielding has resulted in a neodymium magnet for the tweeter. Neo (as it is affectionately known) is a much stronger and more compact magnet material than ferrite, and it is self-shielding. Both properties make it ideal for the ELEGANCE. The dome is made of coated silk, a non-resonant design that sounds wonderfully soft and transparent, while at the same time blending perfectly with the 3” unit at 3300 Hz. The voice coil is cooled with low-viscosity ferrofluid. The faceplate of the tweeter is shaped to guide the high frequencies away and towards the sides of the speaker, permitting listening off-axis with almost no loss of information.
The ELEGANCE is developed, designed, hand-built, assembled and individually tested at the DALI factory in Denmark.
